XML Sitemap Validator
Check an XML sitemap for common sitemap protocol, structure, URL, and configuration problems.
Submitted URLs or pasted XML are sent to the Brilliance processing service for validation. URL validation causes the service to retrieve the submitted sitemap, so do not enter private, internal, authenticated, or otherwise sensitive URLs.
Common XML sitemap limits
<lastmod> when the underlying content meaningfully changes.
URL validation must be treated as a server-side fetch
The public validator should only retrieve ordinary public HTTP and HTTPS sitemap URLs. Private networks, loopback addresses, link-local addresses, internal hostnames, credentials in URLs, unsupported ports, and redirects into restricted networks must be blocked by the API.
External XML resources should never be resolved
Sitemap XML parsing should disable DTD processing and external entity resolution. Validation should operate only on the submitted sitemap content and must not allow XML to retrieve local files, network resources, or external entities.
